BALTIMORE – Mariner outfielder Victor Robles will continue the recovery of his left shoulder blurring machine that he suffered from a highlight on the dirty territory in early April in early April.
Robles maintained expectations in his recovery, finishing third on Tuesday with DH for the third time. He is expected to need about 40-50 batsmen before returning to Major League Baseball.
“He missed a big part of the season here, so to put his legs under him – so to speak.” [he] Closer to getting ready to be active, this is “How does his swing feel? How is the defense? You want him to hit as much as he can because he misses a lot of time.”
When Robles returns, he will join the offense that has been greatly improved.
Seattle was supported by the joining of Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez on the trade deadline, Seattle is one of the hottest clubs in baseball, winning nine titles in 10 games before flying the East for nine games, playing against Orioles, the Mets and the Phillies.
“I think they're all in the game for a while when you look at the people we add and the personality they bring,” Wilson said. “Geno itself brings a lot of energy. But, they also bring a lot of stability in a lot of ways because they already exist. They know what to expect.”
That said, if Robles was the version of the Mariners who signed free agents in June 2024, he would certainly add a lot.
After a tough start to the season in late May last year, the Nationals designated Robles cut .328/.393/.467 in 77 games against Seattle. He ran four times, drove 26 times and scored 41 points.
“You talk about energy, Vic brings energy,” Wilson said. “I like to get him everywhere. He just lifts people up, that's his kind of person.”
The Mariners and Robles agreed to a two-year, $9.75 million extension ahead of the season. But Robles was struggling on foul territory outside the right game after only 10 games in the 2025 campaign in an April 6 game at Giants Oracle Park.
