San Diego (Fox 5/kusi) – We all know that Padres can play on the field, but a Padre will show off his talent on the music stage.

Padres infielder Jose Iglesias, also a Latin pop artist, will perform with Mexican band La Adictiva on Thursday, September 25 at Gallagher Square in Petco Park.

Iglesias' nickname “Candelita” (translated as “Little Flame” in Spanish) was inspired by his father's nickname Candelario. The nickname he picked up in Cuba is also his stage name.

Candelita will play his latest release single “Roto” alongside La Adictiva and “OMG”, which debuted in the 2024 Major League Baseball season.

Earlier this spring, Iglesias joined the Padres organization as a minor league free agent.

La Adictiva, known for musical hits such as “en peligro de extinction” and “Despues de ti Quien”, has been nominated for multiple Latin Grammy Awards and numerous billboard Latin Music Awards. The band was originally from Mesillas Concordia at MX Sinaloa.

Public tickets will be available at 10 a.m. Thursday
