On the day of the training camp, the Hawks signed defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and defensive tackle Jacob Sykes. To make room on the lineup, they gave up on defensive end KJ Henry and ran back to Lew Nichols.
Okoronkwo entered his seventh season in the NFL and played 80 games and recorded 17 sacks. He spent last season with the Cleveland Browns, where he played 16 games (5 games), 23 tackles and 3 sacks.
Sykes came to Philadelphia from the United Football League, where he played for San Antonio Brahmas. Sykes began his college career at Harvard before moving to UCLA. He has not drafted it in 2023 and signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent.
Henry joined the Eagles mid-season, while Nichols arrived in Philadelphia in 2023. Both players spent most of last season practicing the lineup and neither of them was in the game.
