New Orleans – Saints quarterback Tyler Shoough has agreed to a fully guaranteed contract worth $10.795 million.
The move came a few days before the Saints began training camp. Saints and first-year head coach Kellen Moore will open training camps Wednesday at the team facility in Metairie, Louisiana.
Expected to compete for the starting quarterback role with sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler, who was selected as the 40th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He was the last player in the draft to get a fully guaranteed deal and has followed a series of second-round draft protocols over the past few days.

Shought was the first Saints' second round pick to get a fully guaranteed contract. The Saints guaranteed a contract for 2024 second-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry after picking him at the 41st pick. The first three seasons of McKinstery's trade guaranteed part of his fourth and final season.
Shought’s deal with New Orleans also includes the annual roster bonus structure, which is without other first-round picks, so Shoough gets most of his salary each year in the first week of training camp.
The Saints have now agreed to meet all nine of their 2025 draft picks.
