The family is mourning and asking for answers after the two were killed, and four others were injured in a series of weekend shootings in Oakland.

Gunshots broke out in 18th Street early Saturday morning. About 45 minutes later, Oakland police said their shooting tools captured another shooting incident on 17th Street and San Pablo Avenue. Response officials found 21-year-old Israeli Miller young death.

The victim's father, Israel Miller Sr., spoke to the NBC Bay Area from his family home in Alameda on Tuesday.

“It’s really hard,” Israeli senior. “No parents should bury their children. This is the hardest thing I've ever dealt with.”

The Israeli son said his son left behind a 3-year-old son of his own, a good child, and had problems with growing up.

“He is fighting demons like all of us,” said the senior Israeli state. “He is fighting demons tied to the streets and wanting to do the right thing.”

The family said that Little Israel attended a continuing school in Auckland. Israel Sr. also said that family challenges make already difficult labor even harder.

“I know he wants to try to change his life,” said the senior Israeli state. “I think he made a mistake one night and it killed him.”

Israel Sr. believes that social media has helped his son to the dark side of life. Now, he urges other parents to learn from grief and get involved in their children’s lives.

“It’s really involved in your kids’ lives and social media,” he said. “It’s really about focusing on what they’re fascinating. That’s what kids are doing these days. Their lives are fascinating on the street.”
